A FEW NOTES ABOUT HOW THINGS WORK

NOTE TO  OTHER TEACHERS

If you are an instrumental teacher yourself looking at this out of interest,
why not contact me as I am keen on networking. If you have vacancies let me know. I am keen to get to know other singing teachers, as I often have too many enquiries to handle and would like to be in a position to refer on. I am especially interested in connecting with a singing teacher who works with the examination system.

VACANCIES IN COVENTRY

(22/06/08) I have some vacancies in Coventry at the moment.
If you would like singing lessons,  please contact me.

Don't forget that you are always welcome to attend  one of our monthly Master Class as a guest.

VACANCIES IN LEAMINGTON SPA

I have a few vacancies for  pupils in Leamington Spa on Thursdays.
I have vacancies at 2.00, 3.00 and 7.00 or 7.30. If you would like singing lessons on Thursdays in Leamington Spa,  please let me have your details on an This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it enquiry form and I will contact you. As soon as I have two more pupils I can give a start date. It may be possible to be flexible about the timings I have suggested.

FEES

The charge for your initial consultation will be £30, payable in advance.
My fee for regular lessons is £27 per hour. You can pay weekly, but there are fee reductions for people booking and paying for a block of up to 10 lessons in advance.
Singers Master Classes and Learn to Read Music Classes are £10 for guests and £6 for pupils of Unlock the Music.

FIRST LESSON

The first lesson is an introductory session and will give you a flavour of how I work. We will also discuss possible dates and times. I will tell you if I think we can work together and you will then need to decide whether you would like to take up my offer.
If you decide to take up the offer, I will ask you to complete a registration document.
LENGTH and FREQUENCY OF LESSONS

Adults have hour lessons and most children have half an hour. Some teenagers have hour lessons. It all depends on what you want to achieve and what you can afford.
Some people commission two lessons a week for a period prior to an audition.
For maximum benefit from any music lessons you need to attend at least fortnightly, especially if you do have auditions or performances coming up or if you have some issues with your vocal production that you want to work on.
I do not accept pupils who want to attend occassionaly, but I do accept people who want to take a 6-10 week course of lessons, rather than on-going lessons. Payment for these is usually in advance.

YOUR MUSICAL STYLE

I can accommodate most musical styles: I am classically trained and also sing and play in the popular styles.
OBTAINING SHEET MUSIC

I will loan you music until we find something that you really want to work on.
I will advise you on how to download sheet music from Internet sites.
