THOUGHTS ON PIANO LESSONS.....

In these times when children can seem to expect everything to come quickly, the opportunity to learn a musical instrument offers them something very different. In some ways it is the equivalent to the process of learning to swim or ride a bike. It has really good challenges in co-ordinating hand to eye control. Learning to read music is also like learning another language. Developing a musical ear so that you can pick out and play your favourite tunes and accompany them with chords is very satisfying.

THOUGHTS ON PRACTICE.....

PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL YOUNG CHILDREN WHO LEARN A MUSICAL INSTRUMENT WILL NEED AN ADULT OVER-VIEWING THEIR PRACTICE. MY PUPILS ALSO  NEED A KEYBOARD AT HOME TO PRACTICE ON. VERY YOUNG CHILDREN WILL NEED CLOSE SUPERVISION FOR SHORT SESSIONS OF PRACTICE AND ENCOURAGEMENT TO EXPERIMENT FOR PLEASURE.
