| Lizzie and pupils, Danielle Phillips, Chloe Galloway Hyam and Jenny King went along to the studios to surprise Annie with her latest challenge: To learn to sing! Earlier in the morning, Lizzie had given the game away by singing the first line from the song over the phone to her. This was the challenge she dreaded the most. She had learned to skateboard on, play African drums and other exciting on air adventures, but none daunted her as much as alive on air singing lesson. |

Warming Annie up..Jenny King and Chloe Galloway Hyam supported Annie and the audience with the "koo koo koo" exercises
|
| With the extraordinary live mixing talents of BBC's technician Eddy,
the whole show ran so smoothly we all wondered what we had been worrying
about. Annie turns out to have beautiful jazzy voice and by the end of
the show had received 11 texts asking her to sing at Christmas
parties. The judges couldn't fault her and the audience was wowed! |
The audience lapped it up!! |
| What wasn't known was just how nervous all of us from Unlock the Music
were!! Jenny hadn't sung infront of an audience since the age of 10.
Danielle thought she had forgotten her words and Chloe was staving off
a bad cold. Lizzie...well I felt sick!! How was I going to manage to
keep up with the banter and stay focussed to lead the proceedings
enough and let Annie do her part...and play the keyboard and not make
any mistakes....well it all happened and only one keyboard blunder..I
always expect my pupils to be brilliant but they were just outstanding.
I am so proud to have folk who can step up to the mark like this and
give tip top performances live on air. |
|
and now onto "oo oh ai ee ah"!! Jenny,Cloe and Danielle showing her how to do it..
|
After all the nerves Annie came up trumps with a great big jazzy voice.... |
