SINGERS MASTER CLASSES
7.00 - 9.00
FEE IS £6 for Unlock the Music pupils and £10 for guests
NEXT MASTER CLASS WILL BE ON SUNDAY JANUARY 31st 2010
For the advanced pupils, Master Classes are a chance for feedback from a supportive group. For beginners or those more tentative about their abilities a chance to start to try things out or just to observe and learn from others.
Master Classes are a popular feature of the Unlock the Music musical community.
Guests are always welcomed.

Opportunities to listen and interact with other singers' learning are very important.
Master classes can offer the first opportunity to try out singing to others.
This is a chance to hear how others perform these songs and experience the
value of group learning with constructive feedback.
Master Classes are friendly and very supportive events.

"Master Classes with Unlock the Music are always fun experiences. Last night we sang several songs as a group and began to develop harmonies for some that will be in the next concert. Each person sang two solo songs of their choice to the group and were offered encouragement and constructive feedback. This term we are particularly focussing on performance skills and so many comments were about how convincing the singer's take on their song was. We ended the evening by pushing the kitchen table aside and learning a dance routine with Darrell that we plan to include in the next concert."
"The
room was packed this month! Members of one of the pupil's family had
come along as observers. All commented on the increased strength of
this pupil's voice. It is interesting for each participant to share
what their musical pathway has been and what their ambitions are. The
priority for most pupils at the moment is developing their performance
skills and the friendly atmosphere really supports people to experiment
with this aspect. By next month there will be more space for teaching
our dance routine to end the sessions as I get rid of the big table in
my kitchen. Let the dancing continue!"
