After an relaxed afternoon workshop concert for
family and friends...came the first pupil recital...

Our compere was fashion designer Gillian Wesley of
www.gillianwesley.co.uk and our special guest was
Frank Dawkins, who broke his busy West End s
chedule to come present certificates.
In Frank's long career as a guitarist, arranger and musical director
in the
music business he has traveling the world with such popular
music icons
as Sheila Ferguson, The Supremes, Sister Sledge,
Ben E. King and the late Gene
Pitney. Frank currently works
mostly in West End Theatres and is currently
performing in
the new musical "Daddy Cool" at the Shaftsbury Theatre.

.......On November 26th 2007, after many months of hard work and dedication,
we packed 20 performers and a capacity audience into a thrilling
evening of
songs with cello and keyboard music at St. Martin's Church
Hall,Green Lane,
Coventry. It was a wonderfully diverse programme and
very well received
by the audience. Two singers from this concert have
already been booked to
perform for a special occassion.

There was also music by Vaughan Williams, Baroque arias and a Sonata
for cello,
alongside with hits by Alicia Keys, Mariah Carey, Nina
Simone, Eva Cassidy,
Katie Melua, Bacharach, Evanescence and the
Beatles, with showstoppers
from Oliver, Les Miserables and Miss Saigon.

Opening the show is her gorgeoous black evening gloves, Kate Meiklejohn
gave us "Hello Young Lovers" and a luscious "Black Coffee"

At 12 years old Danielle shows exceptional talent
and already gives an assured and genuine quality
to her performance.

Our guest cellist was Jane Farrington, who is currently working as
a free-lance
art curator, with her latest commission to work on the
Royal Collection.
Jane and Lizzie played a Baroque cello sonata by Eccles.

Breathtakers are Lizzie on
vocals and keyboards and
Graham Weston on guitar.
|
|
|
|
Debbie Wicik, a finalist in the year's Jax Factor, delighted her audience
with "Star Vicino", "A Woman's Worth" and "Songbird".

Sonia Gill stunned us with her version of "The Look of Love"
and wowed us with her "Big Spender"...Sonia will shortly be

Milly gave us a haunting take on Bacharach's "The Look of Love".

Tom Beynon returned from Nottingham Unversity with
his huge baritone voice to
give us Dr. John Blow's "The Self Banished"
and "Stars" from "Les Miserable".
An audience member has especially commented on Tom's superb breath control....

Damian sang in the afternoon and doubled up as a very sensitive sound man,
helping to bridge the gap between acoustic and amplified music.....

"See the Day and "Get Here" WOW!

Lucy Varga Sharples, our youngest performer at
9 years old, charmed her audience with the Siamese
Cat Song (featuring a real life miaowing section) and
"The Uninhabited Island".

Naomi Smith stunned us with "Hello"
with
Jane helping out on cello solo
and her
delightful cheery version of
"With a Little Help from my Friends".

Hannah Toner enchanted us "As Long as He
Needs Me" and "Closest Thing to Crazy"
|
|
|
|
|
| First time peformer, Nick James, enterntained us his Boogie Woogie. |
|
Nick aims to be ready to accompany his
daughters at the next concert.
|
|
Holly Coulson broke us in gently with "I Dreamed a Dream", took our breath away with "Vision of Love" and then leapt off the stage for "River Deep Mountain High"
