Does your teacher think you are ready?
Have you learned your music?
Have you warmed up your voice/fingers?
Do you have a copy of the music for the accompanist?
Have you chosen an outfit that is suitable for the occasion?
Are you calm enough to give your best?
Will you remember to avoid looking directly at the audience?
Will you wait a little before you sing/play to collect your thoughts?
Will you nod to your accompanist to signal that you are ready?
Will you express the music as though you wrote it?
Will you stand and bow a little to accept applause with a smile and acknowledge your accompanist?
Will you walk away from the stage or audition space calmly?
Will you be honest with yourself about how well you did and accept the positive feedback you get, as well as the construcitve comments about how you can improve?
Will you come back for more, having taken on board what's been said this time?
GOOD LUCK!

"Young
Performer"
"Young Performer is a national magazine inspired by Stagecoach and
published by McMillan Scott Publishing. There are six issues a year.
The magazine is designed to appeal to those young people for whom
acting, singing and dancing is a passion. The focus is to entertain,
inform and educate through articles, interviews, news stories, quizzes and competitions."
I think it is is a useful magazine for young people considering a career in
performance.
It is available from W.H.Smiths or by subscription through the Stage Coach website and comes out every 2
months.
