This area responds to your question:
"HOW DO I GET HOLD OF MY OWN MUSIC?"
|
|
SOME NOTES ON THE NON-INTERNET LOCAL OPTIONS
|
|
It is really important to avoid photocopying . Wherever possible you should obtain your own copy of the music you need for your lessons.
|
|
You could go to your local library and request they get any music that you want.
The inter-library loan system supports this and libraries may purchase something if it isn't in their stock

Locally, Presto Music(their website is for CD and DVD sales only) in Leamington Spa can get hold of most of the music you will require. They will download digital sheet music for you for small additional charge, if you can't do this yourself. They are very helpful and have a good stock to browse through. Music books will be full cost.

OXFAM music and books shops are like Alladdin's caves for finding music. You won't be able to find what you are looking for, but I've saved a fortune on gathering up random cheap 2nd hand bargains for my music library.

Waterstones, Ottakers, Blackwells, Borders and other book shops are stocking music albums. These are good collections and cost about £16 or up to £25 if they include CD backing tracks. This is full price music.
Bear in mind how many of the songs/tunes in any one music album you will really want to sing/play.
TMC on the Binley Road Coventry also stock music song books and many of the instrument shops do too.

MY FAVOURITE INTERNET DOWNLOAD SITE FOR EASY DIGITAL PIANO MUSIC...Gilbert de Benedetti
For pianists here is a great site that you could join:-
www.pianostreet.com
This site offers a list of music that is out of copyright( "in the public domaine"):-
http://www.pdinfo.com/list.htm
A very useful classical music site with MP3 downloadable accompaniments available.
Try it and give me feedback:-
http://www.karadar.com/
A site where you can purchase from a small, developing range of very high quality classical song accompaniments:-
pianoaccompaniments.com
This useful site has some rudimentary sound tracks. It has some accompaniments. The music is all out of copyright and the site is a little hard to sort through. It is well worth exploring though. You can download sheet music by Scubert and Schumann for instance free of charge:-
mutipiaproject.org
As well as being a reliable site for on-line purchase of sheet music, this site supplies some free sheet music downloads and a lot of individual digital sheet music that costs from £2-£3 per item.
NB You will need to download SCORCH if you don't see the music score initially. This is the main site I use for downloading your sheet music and songs, including some free downloads:-
musicroom.com
This next site is very similar to musicroom but has some digital sheet music that musicroom doesn't have or is harder to find on that site. As it is U.S. based the postal charges mitigate against overdering sheet musiic from them in comparison to musicroom.com:-
http://www.musicnotes.com/SheetMusic
Amazon is also very competitive in their pricing of song albums. You can also purchase second hand music through them.

FREE SHEET MUSIC
If you type this into Google, you will come up with several sites that offer free sheet music downloads.
These sites are good for both free piano music and classical songs:
